The Jacksonville-Onslow Leadership Class 2015 has chosen the Onlsow Women's Center's Safe House as their community project. The project will involve remodeling the kitchen and dining room area of the Safe House, including replacing the floor, painting and decorating, reorganizing and restructuring the layout, and adding new dining room furniture. This will allow the families that reside at the Safe House to be comfortably seated for meal times as well as be in a more family-like and homey atmosphere, encouraging them to make the most out of their stay.
The Leadership Class 2015 has decided on three fundraising options: a Social Media Campaign, the #LoveShouldntHurt Campaign, and private or in-kind donations. The Social Media Campaign is designed to raise funds via social media outlets (i.e. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.). You can read more about this campaign here. The #LoveShouldntHurt Campaign is desgined to take place in the Jacksonville-Onslow Community with the help of local businesses and community members. We are asking that businesses or individuals commit to helping our Class make a difference in the lives of those in need by hosting an event where a percentage of sales would be allocated to our project. The percentage of sales would be solely up to the hosting business as well as the time frame. Lastly, private and/or in-kind donations are gladly accepted through check or cash payments.
